VANS SKATE PLAZA

we're turning surfers paradise into
skaters paradise!

Grab your skateboards and head on down to SPRINGTIME for the Vans Skate Plaza!

Located on the Surfers Paradise Esplanade and available exclusively during SPRINGTIME, the Vans Skate Plaza is open to experienced skaters keen to show off their tricks with the iconic Surfers Paradise beach as their backdrop!

Yes, but we don’t recommend trying your first skate here as there will be many intermediate and experienced skaters.

All skaters will also need to sign a waiver and if you’re under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign you in.

While we understand that skaters can range in various age and abilities, we recommend skaters be at least 8 years of age. Participation of anyone under this age will be at the discretion of event organisers and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

All skaters will be required to sign a waiver and all underage skaters must be signed in by a parent or guardian.

Yes, you will need to bring your own skateboard and safety gear if you want to have a skate. Participants must also wear suitable enclosed shoes and helmets are also recommended.

The Vans Skate Plaza has been specifically designed by skateboarding professionals to suit skateboards only. Therefore roller skates and scooters will not be permitted inside the Plaza.

You can choose to leave your boards at the Vans Skate Plaza registration tent, however this is not a secured/locked space and the organisers hold no responsibility for any stolen goods.

Jesse Noona, Nixen Osborne and Rome Collyer from the Vans Skate team will have demos at the Vans Skate Plaza daily from 12:30PM – 1:30PM and 4:00PM – 5:00PM.

During these times, there will be no public access to the Vans Skate Plaza.

All experienced skaters over 8 years of age are welcome to skate at the Vans Skate Plaza daily from 1:30PM – 4:00PM and 5:00PM – 8:00PM.

On Sunday 3 September, the Vans Skate Plaza will close at 7PM.

VANS SKATE TEAM

Leading the charge, Jesse Noonan is the life of the party and a VANS team rider vet. Known for his incredibly trick heavy runs and his fast and fearless approach to his lines, Jesse charges hard at every aspect of skating, making every contest, video, road trip or demo an experience.

Nixen Osborne has a unique approach to skateboarding that blazes its own path. With hard-charging lines mixed with precision, his high energy personality and penchant for stepping into spots few others would makes him a crowd favourite.

Rome might be the youngest of the bunch, but what he lacks in years he makes up for in precision. Known for his clean style and smooth execution of technical manoeuvres, Rome’s trick combinations are on par with the tour veterans.
